The Sustainable Travel Pledge Project, developed by UNESCO, is a global initiative aimed at promoting sustainable tourism and minimizing the negative impact on the tourism sector—one of the most vulnerable industries in times of economic and political crises. As part of this initiative, the following hotels within the Akra Hotels group—Akra, Akra V, Akra Sorgun, Akra Kemer, Akra Fethiye, and Akra Fethiye The Residence—have committed to implementing sustainable practices as part of their operations and services.

Through the Sustainable Travel Pledge Project, Akra Hotels once again demonstrates its sensitivity to nature and local culture and aims to further strengthen and expand its sustainability efforts over time.

In addition to the current scope of the project, Akra Hotels aims to:

  • support local employment and the purchase of locally sourced products in Antalya as part of its social responsibility,
  • reduce carbon emissions through energy savings,
  • promote water conservation by collecting rainwater,
  • minimize the use of single-use plastic products by reducing plastic consumption, and
  • recycle food waste through effective waste reduction efforts.

Winning the hearts of the people of Antalya not only through its service quality but also through its social responsibility initiatives, Akra Hotels aims to continue its efforts to protect nature and local culture while also raising awareness among its guests through this project.

In addition, Akra Hotels is committed to expanding its efforts to protect the environment and ensure the safety of endangered caretta carettas (loggerhead sea turtles). This year, the group will also prioritize placing birdhouses in Fethiye and supporting the preservation of the sea daffodil in Sorgun as part of its environmental initiatives.
